Itinerary

🌆 Day 1: 3 Days from Tangier to Fez – Tangier – Tetouan – Chefchaouen

Departure from Tangier

We begin the tour from Tangier, a vibrant, multicultural port city located at the meeting point of the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea 🌊. With both European and Arab influences, Tangier provides a first contact with modern and traditional Morocco 🇲🇦.

🕊️ Stop in Tetouan: The Andalusian White City

On our way to the Rif Mountains, we stop in Tetouan, known as “the white dove” 🕊️. Its medina is a UNESCO World Heritage site, reflecting strong Andalusian influences. During the visit, we stroll through narrow streets, explore Hassan II Square, and enjoy the city’s tranquil, authentic atmosphere.

💙 Chefchaouen: Morocco’s Blue Town

Next, we continue to Chefchaouen, the blue gem of northern Morocco 🏞️. This charming mountain town, located 600 meters above sea level, is painted in shades of blue and white, making it one of the most photogenic destinations in the country 📸.

In the afternoon, we explore:

  • 🏘️ The Medina of Chefchaouen – with blue doors, hanging flowers, and artisan shops.

  • 🌸 Uta el-Hammam Square – the heart of the city.

  • 🏰 15th-century Kasbah – offering panoramic views from its tower.

  • 💧 Ras El Ma Spring – where mountain water flows through cool alleyways.

Finally, we spend the night in a traditional riad within the medina, with views of the Rif Mountains 🌄.

🏛️ Day 2: 3 Days from Tangier to Fez – Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fez

🏺 Scenic Route to Volubilis

After breakfast 🍽️, we head south to Volubilis, an ancient Roman city and UNESCO World Heritage site 🏛️. Here, we discover well-preserved mosaics, majestic columns, and remnants of a prosperous Roman city in North Africa.

🏰 Meknes: The Lesser-Known Imperial City

Next, we continue to Meknes, one of Morocco’s four imperial cities 🌟. Although less visited than Fez or Marrakech, Meknes boasts impressive monuments:

  • 🚪 Bab Mansour Gate – one of Morocco’s largest and most beautiful gates.

  • ⚰️ Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail – the sultan who made Meknes a powerful capital in the 17th century.

  • 🐴 Ancient royal stables and granaries – a glimpse into the city’s past grandeur.

After lunch, we head to Fez, where we spend the night in an authentic riad within its historic medina 🏘️.
