It is the largest sandy area in Morocco, stretching about 28 km long and up to 5 km wide in some parts. Some dunes rise to 150 meters, offering an impressive and constantly shifting landscape.

The Merzouga Desert is located in southeastern Morocco, near the Algerian border. The town of Merzouga serves as the gateway to this desert, providing access to its golden dunes and unique experiences.
From Marrakech, it’s over 550 km. Therefore, it’s recommended to plan a 3–4 day itinerary to fully enjoy everything the desert has to offer.
