This 3-day tour is a short but intense journey that connects the two imperial cities of Fez and Marrakech, crossing the impressive Sahara Desert and landscapes that seem out of this world. It is ideal for travelers with little time who do not want to miss the magical experience of the Sahara.

The journey begins in Fez, from where you will enter the Middle Atlas, passing through Ifrane (known as the “Switzerland of Morocco”) and the cedar forests of Azrou. You will continue south through the Ziz Valley until you reach Merzouga, where a camel adventure through the Erg Chebbi dunes and an unforgettable night in a traditional Berber camp under the stars awaits you.

In the following days, you will cross the spectacular landscapes of the Dades Valley and the Todra Gorges, visit ancient kasbahs and palm groves, and travel along the route of a thousand kasbahs until you reach the legendary Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, before crossing the High Atlas via the Tizi n’Tichka pass heading to Marrakech.

    Itinerary

Day 1: Fez – Midelt – Azrou – Ziz Valley – Merzouga (Camel Ride & Overnight in the Desert)

On the first day of our 3-day Fez to Marrakech tour, we will depart from Fez at a time to be agreed upon. We’ll pass through Ifrane, often referred to as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” and continue to the cedar forests of Azrou, home to wild monkeys—an excellent opportunity for photos.

We’ll then continue to Midelt, where we’ll stop for lunch. After lunch, we continue through the scenic Middle Atlas Mountains, enjoying the changing landscapes as we pass by Rich and arrive at the town of Erfoud—the gateway to the Saharan oasis of Tafilalet.

From Erfoud, we head towards Merzouga, also known as the Gateway to the Erg Chebbi Dunes. Upon arrival, we will mount camels for a 1.5-hour trek into the heart of the Sahara Desert. Along the way, you’ll witness a spectacular sunset over the massive sand dunes of Erg Chebbi.

Once at the camp, you’ll enjoy a delicious dinner followed by traditional Berber music under a starry sky and a crescent moon. Overnight stay in a nomadic desert camp.

    Day 2: Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Tinghir – Todra Gorges – Dades – Ouarzazate

On day two of our 3-day Fez to Marrakech tour, you’ll have the chance to watch the sunrise over the dunes—a truly magical experience. After breakfast, we return to Merzouga by camel.

From there, we begin our journey to Ouarzazate. Along the way, we’ll pass through several Berber villages and notable spots including Rissani, Erfoud, Tinghir, and the impressive Todra Gorges—a favorite destination for rock climbers.

Continuing through the Dades Valley, the Valley of Roses, and Skoura, we’ll reach Ouarzazate in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.

    Day 3: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Tizi-n-Tichka – Marrakech

On the final day of our 3-day Fez to Marrakech tour, after breakfast, we’ll visit the famous film studios in Ouarzazate and then head to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou—one of Morocco’s best-preserved and most impressive kasbahs. Many famous movies, including Gladiator, were filmed here.

We’ll then continue our journey across the majestic High Atlas Mountains via Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 meters), enjoying panoramic views of valleys, peaks, and Berber villages along the way.

We will arrive in Marrakech in the evening, marking the end of our journey.
