    Overview

    This 8-day tour is perfect for those who wish to discover the contrasts of Morocco, traveling from the northern coast in Tangier to the vibrant city of Marrakech. Throughout the trip, you will have the opportunity to explore the charm of historic cities, mountainous landscapes, the Sahara Desert and traditional Berber life.

    You will begin in Tangier, a port city rich in history and culture, known for its fusion of Arab, European and African influences. From there, you will head south, passing through Rabat, the administrative capital, and Fez, where you will explore its famous medina and discover its fascinating history. You will then head into the Atlas Mountains and the desert of Merzouga, where you will enjoy a unique experience riding a camel in the dunes and spending the night in a haima in the desert.

    The journey will continue through the beautiful landscapes of the Todra Gorges and the Valley of the Roses, until you reach Ouarzazate, known as the gateway to the desert. Finally, you will arrive in Marrakech, a vibrant city that combines history, art and modernity, famous for its markets, palaces and gardens.

    A complete route for those looking to get to know the essence of Morocco, with time to explore its cities, landscapes and culture in depth.

    Day 1: Tangier – Tetouan – Chefchaouen

    On the first day of our 8-day Morocco Tour from Tangier to Marrakech, we’ll pick you up at the agreed time and place to begin the journey to Chefchaouen, passing through Tetouan, known as the “Spanish city.”

    Once we arrive in Chefchaouen, we’ll explore the city, walking through its charming streets lined with old blue-and-white houses. You’ll also enjoy beautiful panoramic views of this picturesque mountain town.


    Day 2: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fez

    After breakfast, we head towards Fez, driving along the Rif Forest.
    We’ll stop at the Roman ruins of Volubilis, where you’ll have the option of a guided tour. This UNESCO World Heritage Site features well-preserved mosaics and Roman architecture.

    We then continue to Meknes, a city that flourished under Sultan Moulay Ismail. You’ll visit his palace, the famous Bab Mansour Gate, Dar El Maa, and the royal granary.

    In the evening, we continue on to Fez for an overnight stay.


    Day 3: Fez – Full-Day Guided Tour of the Medina

    This day is fully dedicated to discovering Fez, the intellectual and spiritual capital of the kingdom.

    You’ll visit a number of historical landmarks:

    • The Medersas (Islamic schools): Chahrij, Bou Inania, Attarin

    • The souks (markets)

    • Fes El-Jedid

    • The Karaouine Mosque, also home to the oldest university in the world

    You’ll take a guided walking tour through the largest Medina in Morocco, immersing yourself in its vibrant history and culture.


    Day 4: Fez – Ifrane – Azrou – Cedar Forest – Erfoud – Merzouga

    After breakfast, we leave Fez and travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping first at Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco” due to its alpine architecture and cleanliness.

    Next, we stop in Azrou, a Berber village known for its handicrafts, carpets, and wood carvings.
    We’ll pass through Midelt and the Tizi Talghemt pass (1,907 meters high), enjoying the striking landscapes of purple-hued, barren mountains.

    Passing through Errachidia and the palm groves of Erfoud, we finally reach the edge of the Sahara Desert in Merzouga, where we’ll ride into the dunes to spend the night in a luxury desert camp with private bathrooms and hot showers.

    You’ll enjoy a traditional Berber dinner, live music, and a magical night under the starry sky of the Sahara.


    Day 5: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Rose Valley – Ouarzazate

    After breakfast, we depart Merzouga and drive through Rissani and Jorf, located along the right bank of the Ziz River.

    We continue to the Ksar of Touroug, surrounded by scenic oases, and pass through Tinejdad on the way to Tinerhir.
    After lunch, we’ll explore the dramatic Todra Gorges and continue through the beautiful Boulmane Dades Valley, stopping at Kelaa M’Gouna, the heart of the Valley of Roses.

    We reach Ouarzazate, with the option to visit the Kasbah of Taourirt, once the residence of the Pasha of Marrakech. Dinner and overnight stay in Ouarzazate.


    Day 6: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Telouet – High Atlas – Marrakech

    After breakfast, we travel toward Marrakech via the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass (2,260 meters), also known as the “Pastures Pass.”

    We take a scenic alternative route, stopping to visit the world-famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and iconic film location.

    We continue toward Telouet, the capital of Pasha Glaoui, where we’ll visit his historic palace in the Kasbah of Telouet.
    Then, we journey through the colorful High Atlas Mountains and arrive in Marrakech in the evening.


    Day 7: Marrakech – City Tour

    On this final full day of our Tour from Tangier to Marrakech, we’ll explore Marrakech, the city that gave Morocco its name.

    Known for its vibrant culture and nonstop energy, we’ll visit the world-famous Jemaa el-Fna Square, a centuries-old stage for snake charmers, musicians, dancers, storytellers, fortune tellers, and acrobats.

    Other highlights include:

    • Menara Gardens

    • Dar Si Said Museum

    • Agdal Gardens

    • Saadian Tombs

    • El Badi and Bahia Palaces

    Afternoon is free for leisure. Overnight stay in Marrakech.


    Day 8: Marrakech – Airport Transfer

    Enjoy a free morning in Marrakech at your leisure.
    Later, we’ll transfer you to the Marrakech Airport, 3 hours before your flight.
