Day 01: Airport – Casablanca
Your driver/guide will meet you at Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca and transfer you to your accommodation. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 02: Casablanca – Rabat – Chefchaouen
At 8:00 a.m. we will pick you up from your accommodation and begin the journey with a visit to Casablanca’s largest mosque, the Hassan II Mosque, followed by a tour of other points of interest in the city. We will then drive to Rabat, the capital of Morocco, where we will visit the Chellah, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, one of the main gates of the Royal Palace and the Kasbah of the Udayas. Lunch at a local restaurant. Afterwards, we will head straight to Chefchaouen, the Blue City, passing through many small villages and stopping for breaks along the way. In Chefchaouen you will have time to stroll through the blue alleyways of the medina, take photographs and enjoy the local cuisine of this charming town. Dinner and overnight.
Day 03: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Fez
In the morning, at 9:00 a.m., after breakfast, we will set off for Fez. Before arriving, we will visit the historic site of Volubilis. After a tour with a local guide, we will continue to Meknes for sightseeing, starting with the magnificent Bab Mansour gate, followed by the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, the Sahrij Swani and the Jewish quarter. Lunch at a local restaurant inside the old medina of Fez. After lunch, free afternoon in Fez. Dinner and overnight.
Day 04: Exploring Fez
After breakfast, you will begin exploring Morocco’s oldest imperial city, walking through its narrow streets and winding alleys. Our visit starts at the gate of the Royal Palace and the Jewish quarter, the first Mellah built in Morocco in the 14th century. We will make sure you see all the sites of cultural and historical interest, including the renowned Al Quaraouiyine University, considered the oldest in the world, the tanneries and the Mausoleum of Moulay Idriss. After lunch at a traditional Moroccan restaurant, you will visit a mosaic tile cooperative and then enjoy a stunning panoramic view over the entire Fez medina. Dinner and overnight.
Day 05: Fez – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Merzouga
After breakfast, we will head into the Middle Atlas via Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco”, and Azrou. We will stop in the cedar forest to visit the Cèdre Gouraud, where you will see Barbary macaques in the wild. From there, we will travel south through several towns, with the chance to see nomads living in tents along the way, as well as striking volcanic rock formations. Our next stop is Midelt, where you will have lunch. Later, we will continue over the Tizi n’Talghemt pass (1,907 m), enjoying panoramic views, and through the Ziz Gorges and tunnel. Near Errachidia, you will see the Hassan Addakhil Dam with its turquoise waters, which supplies the entire province of Errachidia. We will continue to Erfoud, stopping for a panoramic view of the Aoufous palm grove along the Ziz River, and then on to Merzouga through the Tafilalet oasis, the largest palm grove in Morocco. Arrival in Merzouga in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight.
Day 06: Merzouga Area and Camel Trek
After breakfast at the hotel, you will set out to explore the area. You will visit nomads in their goat-hair tents and learn about life in the desert. Next, you will meet the Gnawa people, originally brought from Sudan as slaves, where you will have the opportunity to listen to their music and learn about their culture and way of life. Depending on the time of year, you may also visit Merzouga Lake and its birdlife, including flamingos. In the afternoon, we will take you to the desert camp to explore the mysterious sea of sand of Erg Chebbi. You will enjoy the beauty of the Sahara and the sunset over the golden dunes. After sunset, dinner will be served in front of the camp, where you will spend your first night under the stars. The camp features individual tents with private bathrooms and hot water. Don’t miss the chance to gaze at the starry sky in the vast silence of the desert.
Day 07: Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Tinghir – Todra Gorges – Dades Gorges
Wake up early to enjoy the sunrise from the top of the dunes in the Sahara, followed by breakfast. After these unforgettable moments, we will return to the vehicle and head for Tinghir via Erfoud and Tinejdad, with a stop for lunch. In the afternoon, we will continue through Tinghir to the Todra Gorges, stopping along the way to take photos and admire the scenery. At the Todra Gorges you will enjoy spectacular views of the canyons on foot before arriving in the Dades Valley, where we will have dinner and spend the night at the hotel.
Day 08: Dades Gorges – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech
After breakfast, we will drive through the Dades Valley towards Kalaat M’Gouna and Ouarzazate. The route through the Dades Valley, known as the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, offers countless photo opportunities. We will visit the Valley of Roses and the village of Skoura, then continue to Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Africa”. Lunch will be at the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, the largest kasbah in Morocco. After touring this UNESCO World Heritage Site, our journey will continue over the majestic Tizi n’Tichka pass, rising to 2,260 m across the High Atlas Mountains. We will stop to enjoy the breathtaking views and visit an argan oil cooperative. Arrival in Marrakech in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight.
Day 09: Exploring Marrakech
After breakfast, you will begin exploring Marrakech, Morocco’s “Red City”. Your guide will make sure you visit the most important historical and cultural sites, including the Saadian Tombs, the Bahia and El Badi Palaces, and the Ben Youssef Madrasa. Lunch at a restaurant near the main square. In the afternoon, visit the Majorelle Garden, the Menara Gardens and the Koutoubia Mosque. Dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Marrakech – Essaouira
After breakfast, we will leave the Red City for Essaouira, the former Portuguese town. Along the way, you can visit a women-run argan cooperative and learn how argan oil is produced. You will explore the harbour of this seaside resort town and enjoy a fresh seafood lunch in the medina. The afternoon is free for you to explore at your own pace, swim or relax on the beach. Dinner and overnight.
Day 11: Essaouira – Casablanca
Spend the morning shopping or relaxing in Essaouira, then depart mid-afternoon for Casablanca, where the tour ends.
