5 Days Marrakech To Desert
This 5-day tour offers a deep immersion into the Sahara Desert, crossing Morocco’s most spectacular landscapes. From the High Atlas Mountains to the stunning dunes of Merzouga, it’s a complete experience that allows you to enjoy the desert, its kasbahs, gorges, and oases—all in a relaxed and unhurried journey.
We will pick you up at the agreed location at 8:00 AM to start our unforgettable 5-Days Marrakech to Desert Tour. Our journey will take us through the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi N’Tichka Pass (2260m), with stops to enjoy and photograph the panoramic views along the way. We will visit a cooperative where women produce Argan Oil, where you will learn about the process and its numerous benefits for the human body.
Next, we will head towards Ait Ben Haddou, where we will visit the famous Kasbah (a UNESCO World Heritage site). Many famous movies like Gladiator, The Jewel of the Nile, Lawrence of Arabia, and others were filmed here. After lunch, we will continue to Ouarzazate, a place full of charm and tradition.
On Day 2 of our 5-Days Marrakech to Desert Tour, after breakfast, we will head towards the Draa Valley, where we will cross one of the longest rivers in Morocco. We will make several stops to admire the adobe kasbahs and Berber villages in the valley. We will continue through the oasis and various towns until we reach the Caid Ali Kasbah in Tamnougalt. Afterward, we will go to Alnif for lunch. We will then continue our journey towards the desert.
Upon arrival at the desert, we will mount camels to travel between the Sahara dunes (Erg Chebbi) towards our desert camp. Once at the camp, you can climb the large dune to enjoy the sunset or try sand surfing. You will have a traditional dinner, enjoy live drum music around a fire, and marvel at the stars in the desert silence. You will stay in comfortable Berber tents equipped with beds, a bathroom, and hot water.
On Day 3, you can wake up early to enjoy the beautiful sunrise between the dunes. After breakfast, we will start our journey towards the village of Khamlia, originally from Mali, where we will enjoy a cup of tea and a small live concert of Gnawa music. Afterward, you will have free time for lunch and relaxation. Before sunset, we will take a drive to the highest dune to witness an unforgettable sunset. Afterward, we will have dinner and enjoy a Berber drum performance.
On Day 4 of our 5-Days Marrakech to Desert Tour, after breakfast, we will head towards Rissani to visit the Mausoleum of Moulay Ali Chref, the founder of the Alaouite dynasty. We will continue to Erfoud to visit the fossilized marble factory and then to Tourog to see the ancient underground irrigation system. We will reach the Todra Valley, where we will have lunch.
After lunch, we will take a guided walk through the palm grove and the Jewish quarter. We will then continue to the Todra Gorges, where the Todra River has carved out a breathtaking canyon with towering cliffs. This is a paradise for climbers and an unparalleled natural site. We will take a half-hour walk to calmly explore the gorges. In the afternoon, we will continue to the Dades Valley, passing through Boumalne, and stop at the Dades Gorges to take beautiful photos.
After breakfast, we will leave for Boumalne Dades. After several stops, we will head towards the Route of the Thousand Kasbahs and the Rose Valley, where we will stop for coffee and visit a rose cosmetics cooperative. Next, we will visit the large Skoura Palm Grove and stop to visit the 17th-century Amredil Kasbah.
We will continue to Ouarzazate, where we will have lunch and visit the Kasbah of Taourirt, once the residence of the Glaoui or Pasha of Marrakech. Afterward, we will continue our journey via Tizi N’Tichka Pass, with stops for photographs of the landscape. We will arrive in Marrakech and drop you off at the agreed location.
